This past December, Kids In Need and Addison Township again worked together to help provide needy children in Addison
Township with some very special holiday enjoyment.
For the second year in a row, KIN was proud to be one of the primary
donors and supporters of this program.
Well over 250 children and their family members were welcomed by
Santa, his elves, and reindeer helpers.
A clown that made balloon animals and performed magic tricks for
the children helped to create a lively and festive feeling for everyone.
A delicious buffet was provided, and Christmas carols were sung.
One of the parents even gave a solo performance of Im
Dreaming of a White Christmas.
Kathryn Cermak, the Supervisor/Treasure of Addison Township and
organizer of this annual holiday event said, This is the biggest
turnout we have had so far. Its wonderful to see the kids
who need some special attention really enjoy themselves at this
time of year. Kathryn was right. For over an hour, the kids
lined up for a chance to sit on Santas lap so they could tell
him what they wanted for Christmas.

When
they were done telling Santa, (even he was amazed at some of the
things on their list), the children were all given a Christmas stocking
loaded with gift certificates and donations from area businesses.
The kids all had their pictures taken with Santa and as one kid
said, Good idea, now I know what he looks like when I see
him again.
KIN is extremely happy to be able to provide its service and support
and to partner with Addison Township to help their kids in need.
After participating in the event for the first time, Don Katz our
Director of Development said, Working with Kathryn Cermak,
her outstanding staff, and all the volunteers from Addison Township
helped demonstrate the caring and concern everyone has for all kinds
of kids in need.
From Their House to Our House
The Christmas season is truly the time of year when people from
all types of backgrounds give from their hearts. Kids In Need appreciates
the numerous gifts and donations it receives from a wide variety
of organizations. We are very grateful to have a number of organizations
that contribute to our programs each year.
This year KIN would like to recognize and thank Medinah Country
Club for their most gracious donation of over 70 toys for the
Kids In Need short-term, immediate-care facility in Addison. At
their annual Childrens Christmas Party, Medinah members, employees,
and their families eagerly collected basketfuls of toys for the
kids who will be using the new immediate-care facility.
Don Larson, the president of Medinah Country Club said, We
are only too happy to help out with donating some toys for the KIN
facility. We know the kids that will be staying there will need
a few fun things to take their minds off their problems.
We would like to express our deep appreciation and thanks to all
of the Medinah members and employees for providing toys for the
kids in our immediate-carehouse.
