Oak Brook F.O.P. Lodge #213 Dinner Dance fundraiser a big success again.

Sgt. Marc DeLise and the Oak Brook F.O.P. Lodge #213 have again successfully hosted the fifth annual fundraising dinner dance for the Kids In Need charity. Held at the Butterfield Country Club, the Oak Brook F.O.P. and their guests enjoyed an evening of fine cocktails, dining, dancing, and socializing.

The raffle prizes were again unique and exciting and according to Shirley DeLise, “All the women had their hearts set on winning the gorgeous diamond necklace.” The men were especially interested in the plasma screen TV, the golf clubs, and the autographed sports memorabilia. Having Stan Mikita personally autograph one of his Blackhawk jerseys was an added attraction. Thank you Oak Brook F.O.P. Lodge #213. Let’s do it again next year!

Better Than Ever

According to the comments we overheard, it was the best event yet. “Everyone really enjoyed themselves,” said Marc DeLise.

“This year everyone seemed very ready to have some fun and enjoy themselves while we helped out Kids In Need at the same time.” Sgt. Marc DeLise and the Oak Brook Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #213 have sponsored the event each of the five years. DeLise and the FOP plan the event, raise funds, solicit raffle gifts and donations, and locate corporate sponsors.

This year, a special treat was added for all the female guests when Sgt. Delise and his son Christopher presented each of them with a beautiful long-stemmed rose during the dinner.

“Marc does an outstanding job for the Kids In Need organization,” said Warren Gnau the Kids In Need founder. “Marc makes sure everyone has a good time while he raffles off and auctions off all the gifts.” And speaking of gifts, this year there were more gifts than ever before. DVD Players, TV’s, autographed hockey jerseys, hockey sticks and baseball bats, golf clubs, wine baskets filled with wine, White Sox tickets, Hollywood memorabilia, gift certificates for all kinds of restaurants and hotels, and a 15” Flat Screen Plasma Television.

The grand prize was a gorgeous $6,000 diamond necklace again donated by Jackie O’Boyle and Marks Bros. Jewelers in Yorktown.

After the dinner was over and all the gifts were raffled off, the guests quickly hurried to the dance floor when the music started. “It’s great to see everyone dancing and enjoying themselves,” said Sgt. DeLise. “I’m so happy that the FOP can help out the KIN organization and the officers and their wives have a wonderful time too.”

Marks Bros. Jewelers provide another outstanding grand prize!!!

Every year Jackie O’Boyle and Marks Bros. Jewelers in Yorktown, provide the Grand Prize for the raffle drawing at the fundraising dinner, and every year the jewelry is more outstanding than the last.

This year Jackie donated a gorgeous $6,000 diamond necklace. It was quite obvious how much the guests liked the grand prize since it was the talk of the evening. Joanne Reilly, one of the mentors for the Kids In Need scholarship program, was the lucky winner this year. Judging from her reaction when she realized she had the winning ticket, we’re sure Joanne was thrilled with her prize.
